		<description><![CDATA[<h1 style="font-size: 24px; color: #5e05d0; text-align: center;"><strong>Hoosac Student of the Week</strong></h1><p style="font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; color: #911c21; text-align: center;"><strong>April 9, 2012&nbsp;</strong></p><p><img src="http://www.hoosac.com/uploaded/Students/Sewa.JPG" width="323" height="480" style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></p><p style="font-size: 16px; text-align: center;"><strong>Adesewa "Sewa" Egunsola</strong></p><p><strong><em>-- By Haylee Manktelow</em></strong>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Student of the Week for the week April 9th, 2012 was Adesewa Egunsola.&nbsp; Adesewa, who goes by the name Sewa, is a senior who has attended Hoosac since her 8th-grade year.&nbsp; She isn&rsquo;t sure as of yet as to what college she will be attending but she wants to pursue studies in engineering.&nbsp; Sewa is a member of the Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse teams and has been namedCo-Captain for the Lacrosse team.&nbsp;&nbsp; Sewa is also a prefect due to her great leadership capabilities. She is always there to help a peer and is a model student.&nbsp; Sewa wanted to say; &ldquo;Thank you Will, Kelly, and Scott for making sure I always eat lunch even when I forget.&rdquo;</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Faculty and Staff wish to congratulate Sewa on earning Hoosac Student of the Week.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<div><h1 style="font-size: 24px; color: #5e05d0; text-align: center;"><strong>Hoosac Student of the Week</strong></h1><p style="font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; color: #911c21; text-align: center;"><strong>February 26, 2012&nbsp;</strong></p><p><img src="http://www.hoosac.com/uploaded/Students/Haylee.JPG" width="320" height="358" style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></p><p style="font-size: 16px; text-align: center;"><strong>Haylee Manktelow&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong><em>-- By Ryan Allen &amp; Staff</em></strong></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Haylee Manktelow has been awarded Student of the Week for her outstanding performance in and out of the classroom. &nbsp;Haylee, a 4th former from Salem, NY is in her second year at Hoosac.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; While this is Haylee&rsquo;s first Student of the Week award, it is something that she&rsquo;s been working toward since her arrival at Hoosac. Her suggestion to other students looking to get Student of the Week is to be a leader in the classroom, be polite and helpful to your peers and teachers, and to work hard.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Haylee&rsquo;s strategy has paid off -- Faculty and Staff have all noticed her outstanding work ethic, her willingness to help, and her excellence in the classroom. &nbsp;Haylee has also been very helpful in tutoring other students.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Additionally, Haylee is one of the more active students outside the classroom. &nbsp;She is a contributor to the yearbook and is a key member of both the Girls Soccer and Basketball teams. &nbsp;Haylee has also been named as a Captain of this year&rsquo;s Girls Lacrosse team.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; As for her long-term plans, Haylee hopes to pursue a career in criminology, perhaps as either a forensic examiner or as a criminal lawyer. &nbsp;She also hopes to attend an ivy league school upon graduating from Hoosac.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In her spare time, Haylee enjoys playing sports and creative writing. Congratulations Haylee on being awarded Hoosac Student of the Week!</p></div>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p><span size="3" style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div><div><h1 style="font-size: 24px; color: #9400d3; text-align: center;"><strong>Hoosac Student of the Week</strong></h1><p style="font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; color: #8b0000; text-align: center;"><strong>March 5, 2012&nbsp;</strong></p><p><img src="http://www.hoosac.com/uploaded/Students/DGuscott_(2).JPG" width="295" height="384" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></p><p style="font-size: 16px; text-align: center;"><strong>Damani Guscott</strong></p><p><strong><em>-- By Haylee Manktelow</em></strong></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Damani Guscott &lsquo;14 was chosen Student of the Week for the week of March 5th, 2012. &nbsp;The first year, 4th Form student from Wappingers Falls, NY has made his mark with the Hoosac faculty due to his maturity, academic performance and pleasant attitude.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When asked why he chose to attend Hoosac, Damani stated that he felt like he needed to get his grades up and felt that Hoosac was the best school to help him achieve that goal.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; As for how he felt about being selected Student of the Week, Damani added, &ldquo;I was a little surprised but I tried really hard to get Student of the Week.&rdquo;&nbsp; Damani&rsquo;s hard work has definitely paid off as he has left a great impression on the Faculty.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Damani is also a member of Hoosac&rsquo;s Varsity Boys Basketball team. &nbsp;His contributions in the Center position helped the team win the Division D championship on Sunday, March 4th, 2012.</p></div></div>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<h1 style="font-size: 24px; color: #6624da; text-align: center;"><strong>Hoosac Student of the Week</strong></h1><p style="font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; color: #8b0000; text-align: center;"><strong>February 19, 2012&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.hoosac.com/uploaded/Students/YJin.jpg" width="260" height="363" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></p><p style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: center;"><strong>Yaqin "Alice" Jin&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong><em>-- By Haylee Manktelow</em></strong></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The faculty at Hoosac school voted for Yaqin &ldquo;Alice&rdquo; Jin, a Fifth former, to be Student of the Week for the week of Febuary 19th, 2012.&nbsp; Alice Jin is a returning student from China.&nbsp; &ldquo;My parents picked Hoosac for me because they liked it.&nbsp; Teachers are very kind and the environment is pretty good,&rdquo; stated Alice.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Staff and Faculty have noted Alice&rsquo;s helpful demeanor. &nbsp;She is always willing to help people and has become known as one of Hoosac&rsquo;s campus photographers, as she has taken many of the photos for the schools yearbook and newspaper.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Alice is also making her mark on the athletic field, becoming a goalie on the Girls Lacrosse team. I had very good grades and just wanted to make up that time." Austin said.</p><p>Austin is active in campus life, having recently organized the X-box tournament that was held in the auditorium several weekends ago.&nbsp;"Congratulationss to Ryan Allen and Victor De Vega on winning, and congratulations also to the second place winners, Jasn Rodgers and Blake Barnhill." Austin said.</p><p>Austin said a lot has changed at Hoosac during the three years he has gone here, and that a lot of improvements and additions had been made. &nbsp;"When I come back to the school in 40 years, I wonder what it will look like," said Austin.</p><p>Austin is also Hoosac's resident astronomer and is often found in the observatory taking telescopic photos of the stars. &nbsp;Austin's favorite hobby is photography, with which he helps the school with photos for things like the web-site, Owlet, and yearbook.</p><p>Congratulations Austin!</p>]]></description>
