Extracurricular activities are designed to meet the varied interests of the School's diverse student body. Qualified students nominated by classmates serve as prefects and proctors. These student leaders maintain order in the dorms, monitor and correct student behavior as needed, and oversee the work program. All students are assigned routine tasks involved with the upkeep of the buildings and grounds and the general operation of the School.
Students take the initiative in publishing a yearbook, a newspaper, and a creative writing magazine. They stage plays and choral events and plan outings, dances, and other activities.
On weekends, students have the opportunity to stay on campus for dances or faculty open-house or leave campus on school trips to local towns for cultural events such as lectures, concerts, and plays. In the winter there are trips to local ski slopes, roller blade and ice skating rinks, and every weekend there are trips to the movies, and shopping excursions.
