BOYS LACROSSE HOSTS GREENS FARMS ACADEMY IN 13-3 LOSS

   The boys lacrosse team couldn't keep up with the fire power of Greens Farms in the 13-3 loss.  Drew Flynn scored a pair, and Danny Newman added one in the loss. 

   Next up - Tuesday in Vermont vs Stratton Mountain School.

GIRLS LAX FALLS TO MISS HALLS 11-5

   The girls lacrosse team played tough in what was a 5-2 game with about 10 minutes left to play before Miss Hall's reeled off 3 unanswered goals to pull away late.  Taylor Schnoop received player of the game - honors for her efforts on the field and her continued encouragement of her teammates.

   Joyce Wang, Freddy Desgagnes, Tiffany Ray and Eve Dagenais also scored for the ladies.

GIRLS & BOYS LACROSSE TEAMS SUFFER IN DEFEAT VS DUBLIN SCHOOL

   Both lacrosse teams battled in defeat vs Dublin School in New Hampshire on Wednesday.  The girls lost 10-0 as Freddy Desgagnes received player of the game honors.  The boys dropped a 10-1 decision after beating Dublin earlier in the season. 

   Next up for both teams is Saturday.  The girls host Miss Halls School at 2:30, and the boys host Greens Farms School at 2:00.

BOYS LACROSSE TEAM LOOKING SHARP IN 8-7 WIN OVER STRATTON MOUNTAIN

   The Owls hosted Stratton Mountain School from Vermont on Tuesday, and came up with an exciting 8-7 win.  Big stars for Hoosac were Trevor Farrell, Atrael Pineiro, Drew Flynn, Eddy Franz, and Gregg Brathwaite in goal.  The Owls will go on the road to play Dublin School in New Hampshire today for a 3:00 start.

BOYS LAX GAME POSTPONED

May 20, 2013

   Due to the predictions of thunder and lightening in Dobbs Ferry, NY, the lacrosse team did not make the trip on Saturday.  The game has been rescheduled for May 22 at 4:00 - away.

   Next game is Tuesday at home vs Stratton Mountain School at 4:30.

BASEBALL NINE UNLUCKY IN 5-3 LOSS VS MT. ANTHONY

May 10, 2013

   The baseball team hosted Mt. Anthony Union High School from Bennington on Friday afternoon, and lost a well-played 5-3 game.

   The team put together a solid game, both fielding and hitting, as they commited only one error, and strung together six hits in the defeat.

   Blair Manners pitched five strong innings in his first start of the season.  Tyler Proctor, Adam Desgagnes, Alex Anderson, Danny Lepage, and Mitch Holdsworth all came up with hits on the afternoon for the Owls. 

   Next up - Storm King School on Saturday the 18th at home.

BOYS BASEBALL IMPROVES TO 3-2 WITH A 12-5 VICTORY OVER DARROW SCHOOL

May 8, 2013

   The baseball team traveled to New Lebanon, NY to take on Darrow School in a rain soaked game on Wednesday.  Conor Thomson pitched three strong innings to keep Darrow at bay long enough for the Hoosac bats to get fired up. It was a big inning in the sixth as they scored six runs to blow it open.

   Next up - Firday vs Mt. Anthony at home at 4:00.

BOYS LACROSSE LOSES TOUGH ONE IN OT 7-6 VS NORTHWOOD

   The boys lax team hosted Northwood School on Wednesday as they played a solid game, but came up just short in a 7-6 defeat.  Drew Flynn and Atrael Pineiro each had a pair of goals as Trevor Farrell and Danny Newman added one apiece.

   Next up for the Owls - Masters School on Saturday in Dobbs Ferry, NY

GIRLS LACROSSE FALLS TO EMMA WILLARD 11-1

   The girls lacrosse team hosted Emma Willard School from Troy, NY on a rainy afternoon.  They were gracious in defeat, losing 11-1.

   Miranda Du was awarded Player of the Game by the other team.  Bailey Foster did the scoring, and Mary Kate Whitesell played stellar in goal.  Those players also having a solid game were Julia Kopala, Joyce Huang and Eve Dagenais.

   Next up for the girls is Dublin School in New Hampshire on Wednesday the 15th.

BASEBALL WINS IN A SLUGFEST 13-8 OVER VERMONT ACADEMY

April 24, 2013

   The boys baseball team pounded out 11 hits and 13 runs on the afternoon.  Fire players who scored multiple runs were:  Adam Desgagnes (3-for-3 walk, 2 runs scored); Alex Atsaidis (1-for-2, 2 runs scored); Marc-Anthony Lacharite (2-for-3, walk, 2 runs scored); Nolan Porcelli (1-for-2, 2 runs scored); Danny Lepage (2-for-3, run scored, walk); and Eric Pai (1-for-2, walk, 2 runs scored).

   Nolan Porcelli and Blair Manners shared the pitching duties for the Owls who now go to 2-2 on the season.

   Next up - Winchendon School on May 4 at home at 4:00.

   Coach Mathers said, "The boys were in it most of the way with Gregg Brathwaite playing well in goal.  The offense was moving the ball well but we just didn't finish as much as we should have."

GIRLS LAX TRAVELS TO MISS HALL'S IN 9-4 LOSS

   Coach Kelly says, "The girls are starting to find the back of the net now, and being much more competitive.  It's great to see!"

   Tiffany Ray scored a pair of goals and Eve Desgagnes and Bailey Foster added one apiece.  Mary Kate received the sportsmanship award for her leadership and kindness.
