Campus Tour
The 350-acre campus is the site of the former Tibbits family estate, adjoining the 850-acre Tibbits State Forest. Tibbits Hall, a brownstone Gothic mansion constructed in 1860, houses administrative offices and a girls dormitory. Three turn-of-the-century buildings--Whitcomb, Dudley, and Wood halls-provide the chapel, classrooms, three dorms, and the 10,000-volume library. Science facilities are located in Blake Hall, which features two laboratories, a darkroom, an observatory with two telescopes, and an theater. Memorial Hall contains the dining hall, the kitchen, and the student lounge and snack bar. Other residential buildings include Lavino, Pitt Mason, and several small dorms.
Athletic facilities include the Harry Dickie Sports Complex with an indoor swimming pool, weight rooms, and basketball court, four playing fields; six miles of cross- country trails, a pond, and tennis courts. New to Hoosac in the 2010-2011 school year is a Meditation Garden designed by faculty member and alumnus Tom Cochran '66, and donated by Mr. Thomas and The Rev. Dr. and Charlene Proctor, and an Observatory, both located near the Athletic Fields.
